Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of case management in community schizophrenia patients. Methods Eighty patients with community schizophrenia who were registered in a district of Xiamen from June to October 2017 were selected as study subjects, they were divided into case management group (40 cases) and routine management group (40 cases) according to the random number table method. The routine management group gave routine community follow-up, and the case management group implemented case management for one year on this basis. The scores of the concise psychiatric scale (BPRS), the social function defect screening scale (SDSS), and the health checklist (SF-36) before and after the intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The BPRS and SDSS scores of the case management group after the intervention were lower than those of the pre-intervention and conventional management groups, the physical function (PF), vitality (VT), social function (SF), mental health (MH), and overall health (GH) scores in SF-36 were higher than those before the intervention and the conventional management group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Individual case management for schizophrenia in the community is conducive to improving mental symptoms, social dysfunction and quality of life.
