Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of quetiapine combined with lithium carbonate on inflammatory response and manic symptoms in patients with bipolar disorder. Methods A total of 78 patients with bipolar disorder admitted to Ganzhou Third People′s Hospital from September 2017 to August 2019 were selected and divided into the observation group(39 cases)and the control group(39 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group received Lithium Carbonate treatment, and the observation group received Quetiapine combined with Lithium Carbonate treatment. The inflammatory response indicators(tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α],interleukin-1 [IL-1],interleukin-10[IL-10]),manic symptoms and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results There were no statistically significant differences in the levels of TNF-α,IL-1,IL-10 and BRMS scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the level of TNF-α and IL-1,and the BRMS score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the level of IL-10 of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Quetiapine and Lithium Carbonate in the treatment of bipolar disorder can help control the condition, relieve manic symptoms and inflammation, and is safe for clinical application.
