Objective To investigate the clinical effect of laparoscopic transumbilical single-hole appendectomy in the treatment of perforated appendicitis in children and its effect on pain score (VAS).Methods Retrospectively selected 225 children with perforated appendicitis treated in Sanming First Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from October 2016 to June 2020 as the research objects, and divided them into control group (105 cases) and observation group (120 cases) according to different treatment methods. The control group was treated with traditional open surgery, and the observation group was treated with laparoscopic transumbilical single-hole appendectomy. The operative indicators, and total peripheral white blood cell (WBC), C-reactive protein (CRP), visual analogue scale (VAS) scores before and 3, 6 days after surgery, the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time and hospitalization time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the amount of intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in preoperative WBC, CRP and VAS scores between the two groups (P>0.05).The WBC, CRP and VAS at 3 and 6 d after surgery in both groups were lower than those before surgery, and the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic transumbilical single port appendectomy has high application value in the treatment of perforated appendicitis in children, which can shorten the operation time of patients, reduce the amount of bleeding, shorten the hospitalization time, improve the inflammatory reaction and reduce the pain of patients, which is worthy of promotion.
