Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of PDCA circulation management method in hospital surgical instruments cleaning. Methods From January to December 2018,100 surgical instruments of various types were selected from the disinfection supply center of our hospital, and an observation group was formed with 30 staff members to implement PDCA circulation management method. From January to December 2017,100 pieces of various surgical instruments were selected from the disinfection supply center of our hospital, and a control group was formed with 30 staff members to implement the routine management method. The qualified rate of surgical instrument cleaning, the score of theoretical knowledge and operation skills of department staff, the management of operating room equipment, and the satisfaction of department staff were observed and compared. Results After management, the qualified rate of surgical instrument cleaning in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The scores of theoretical knowledge and operational skills of the staff in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the staff in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).In the observation group, the loss of the number of operating room instruments, the loss of postoperative instruments and the wet bag rate after sterilization were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of PDCA circular management method in the cleaning of surgical instruments in hospitals can improve the rate of clearance of surgical instruments in hospitals, improve the professional level of staff, improve the satisfaction of departments, and can be vigorously promoted and used in clinical practice.
