Abstract：ObjectiveTo explore the effect of PDCA circulation method on improving the quality of pharmacy management.MethodsThe outpatient pharmacy which did not use PDCA circulation method in our hospital from April to June 2014 were selected as the control group.The outpatient pharmacy during the time period after PDCA cycle management conducted from October to December 2014 was selected as the observation group.The score of the quality of pharmacy management was compared between the two groups.The inventory of drugs,the number of drug shortage,and the error rate of drug batch number management were observed in the two groups,and the time of allocating and checking a single prescription,the mistake rate of drug delivery,and patients′satisfaction were observed in the two groups.ResultsThe score of the quality of pharmacy management in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the inventory of drugs,the number of times of drug shortage,and the error rate of drug batch management were lower than those in the control group,the time of allocating and checking a single prescription and the mistake rate of drug delivery in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the patients′satisfaction was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).ConclusionPDCA circulation method can improve the quality of pharmacy management,reduce the error rate and mistake rate of drug application,and improve patients′satisfaction.
