Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between the drug resistance rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae (KPN) and the use intensity of antibiotics (AUD) in Taizhou Third People′s Hospital (hereinafter referred to as "our hospital") in recent years. Methods A total of 611 KPN strains were isolated from 115 102 specimens in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were collected as the research objects. The drug resistance rate of KPN and common AUD were calculated to analyze the correlation between them. Results The detection rate of production of extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBLs) KPN increased year by year. Cefuroxime and Levofloxacin were top two antibiotics with the highest AUD in three years. There was no significant correlation between the drug resistance rate of KPN and AUD of Cefuroxime, Piperacillin Tazobactam, Meropenem and Imipenem (P>0.05). The drug resistance rate of KPN was negatively correlated with AUD of Amikacin and Tobramycin (r=-0.610, -0.767; P<0.05). The drug resistance rate of KPN was positively correlated with AUD of Ceftazidime (r=0.629; P<0.05). Conclusion There is a certain correlation between the drug resistance of KPN and the AUD. Antimicrobial agents should be selected scientifically to reduce drug resistance rate of KPN.
