Experimental study of protective effect of low molecular weight heparin on hepatic injury induced by sepsis in rat

Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the protective effect and mechanism of low molecular weight heparin in liver injury of septic rats.Methods50 male SD rats were randomly divided into control group (10 cases),model group (20 cases)and treatment group(20 cases).Cecal ligation puncture(CLP)was used to made sepsis model.Rats in model group were given tail vein injection saline,and the treatment group was given tail vein injection low molecular weight heparin.The level of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),prothrombin time (PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)of rats′serum was detected at different time points,and histopathological changes of liver were observed at 12 h.ResultsCompared with control group, the level of serum ALT,AST,PT,APTT,TNF-αand IL-6 in model group and treatment group at different time points were obviously increased (P<0.01).Compared with model group,the level of serum ALT,AST,PT,APTT,TNF-α and IL-6 in treatment group at different time points(6 and 12 h)were decreased (P<0.05).Histopathological changes of liver at 12 h in treatment group obviously improved than model group.ConclusionLow molecular weight heparin has protective effect on liver damage of septic rats,the mechanism may be related to anticoagulation and inhibition of release of inflammatory factors.
