Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the application effect of peer education model in clinical practice of three-year medical students.MethodsTwenty-seven students at grade 2013 and 31 clinical interns at grade 2012 were classified into experimental group and control group respectively.They were provided with peer education and traditional teaching mode accordingly.The experimental effect was compared and analyzed by scores of after-department examinations in 5-stop type including inquiry,physical examination,auxiliary examination,writing medical records,and oral test in students from majors of internal medicine,external medicine,gynecology,pediatrics,traditional Chinese medicine,and community,and satisfaction from both teachers and patients.ResultsIn the experimental group,the total scores of all medical students from 6 majors in 5-stop type examinations were higher than that in the control group.The scores of satisfaction from both patients and teachers were higher in the experimental group than those in the control group respectively,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe application of peer education model in the teaching practice of threeyear medical students is beneficial to improvement of mastering and intensifying the theoretical knowledge and skills as well as satisfaction both from teachers and patients.
