Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the degree of pain, mental state, and quality of life for patients undergoing appendectomy. Methods A total of 122 patients undergoing appendectomy in Dalian Third People′s Hospital from August 2017 to January 2019 were selected. They were divided into control group(n=61)and study group(n=61)following the principle of randomized control. The control group used routine nursing, the study group used routine nursing plus comprehensive nursing. The surgical-related indicators, pain degree, mental state and quality of life were compared in the two groups. Results The postoperative defecation time, anal exhaust time, bed time and hospital stay in the study group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)score at 24 h after surgery was lower than that in the control group, the total incidence of postoperative complications of the study group was lower than that in the control group, with statistical differences(P<0.05).In the study group, the scores of the Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)and Hamilton depression scale(HAMD)three months after surgery were lower than those of the control group, the score of comprehensive quality of life assessment questionnaire(GQOLI-74)was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing intervention for patients undergoing appendectomy can speed up their postoperative recovery, alleviate pain, relieve poor mental state, improve postoperative quality of life, and reduce the risk of complications.
