Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Dachengqi Decoction for enema in the treatment of critically ill patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction. Methods A total of 76 critically ill patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction admitted to Respiratory Intensive Care Unit(RICU) of Liuzhou Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital from March 2017 to March 2019 were selected as study objects. The patients were divided into control group (38 cases) and observation group (38 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group received routine treatment, while the observation group received Dachengqi Decoction for enema on the basis of routine treatment. The clinical efficacy and recovery of gastrointestinal function in two groups of patients were observed. The scores of acute physiological and chronic health (APACHE Ⅱ) and gastrointestinal dysfunction were compared between the two groups of patients before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The recovery time of bowel sound, the time of first exhaust of the anus, the time of the first defecation, and the time of beginning enteral nutrition in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in scores of APACHE Ⅱand gastrointestinal dysfunction between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the scores of APACHE Ⅱand gastrointestinal dysfunction in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Dachengqi Decoction for enema treatment can improve gastrointestinal function in critically ill patients, promote early recovery of gastrointestinal function, and reduce APACHE Ⅱscore.
