Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of cluster nursing in prevention of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower extremities after orthopedic surgery in elderly patients.Methods A total of 136 Postoperative elderly orthopaedic patients admitted to our hospital from June 2013 to December 2016 were selected as study subjects.According to the random table method, the patients were divided into control group (68 cases) and treatment group (68 cases).The control group was given routine nursing and the treatment group was treated with cluster nursing on the basis of routine nursing.The occurrence of DVT of lower extremity and the quality satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results The incidence of DVT in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The total satisfaction of the treatment group was 95.59%, it was higher than that of the control group (82.35%), the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion The cluster nursing of patients after orthopedic surgery can prevent the incidence of DVT in lower extremities of patients after orthopedic surgery.It can also improve the satisfaction of patients with postoperative nursing.It is worthy of being widely used in clinical practice.
