Abstract:Objective To study the effect of obesity intervention on patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Methods A total of 100 obese patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation admitted to our hospital from September 2016 to June 2017 were enrolled in the study, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. In the control group, previous lifestyle was used, while in the observation group, body weight management for obesity control was adopted. Both groups were followed up for 6 months. The frequency of atrial fibrillation and the incidence of stroke were compared between the two groups. Results The frequency of atrial fibrillation in the observation group was 8.00%,which was lower than that in the control group accounting for 32.00%,with significant difference (P<0.05).The incidence of stroke in the observation group was 2.00%,which was lower than that in the control group accounting for 16.00%,with significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Obesity intervention can accurately decrease the frequency of atrial fibrillation and the incidence of stroke in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, increase patients′survival rate, and reduce the economic burden of obese patients and society.
