Investigation and study of risk factors of distal radius fractures in postmenopausalwomen

Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the risk factors for patients with distal radius fracture in postmenopausal women.M ethodsA total of 500 postmenopausal women with distal radius fractures treated in our hospital from July 2010 to December 2015 were selected as the treatment group,500 postmenopausal women who participated in the physical examination at the same time period were selected as the control group.The related indexes of body mass index and the number of falls in 1 year of the two groups were observed,and a questionnaire survey was conducted.ResultsThe body mass index,the number of falls in the last 1 year,the patientswith skeletal system disease and the family history of fracture in the fracture group was significantly higher than that in the control group,with significant difference(P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that the bodymass index,the number of falls in 1 year,the skeletal system diseases,the family history of fracture and osteoporosis had a significant influence on the incidence of distal radius fractures in postmenopausal women.ConclusionBody mass index,the number of falls within 1 year,skeletal system disease,family fracture history and osteoporosis are high risk factors for distal radius fractures in postmenopausalwomen.
