Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical effect of one-time root canal therapy and conventional root canal therapy for acute pulpitis. Methods The clinical data of 90 patients with acute pulpitis who were admitted to Wuyishan Municipal Hospital from March 2019 to March 2020 were retrospectively reviewed.Patients were divided into the control group(n=45)and the observation group(n=45)according to the different treatment protocol. The control group received conventional root canal therapy, while the observation group implemented one-time root canal therapy to compare the clinical efficacy, pain improvement, prognostic effect and quality of life between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the total treatment response rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The visual analog scale(VAS)score of pain after treatment in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total complication rate and recurrence rate of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in quality of life(SF-36)scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The scores of SF-36 in the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the scores of SF-36 in the observation group was higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion In the clinical treatment of acute pulpitis, both one-time root canal treatment and conventional root canal treatment have significant therapeutic effects, but one-time root canal treatment has a more active application in improving its prognosis and quality of life value.
