Effect analysis of clinical pharmacist intervention on antimic use density in department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology

Abstract:Objective To explore the changes of antibiotic use intensity of hospitalized patients in department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology before and after intervention by clinical pharmacists,so as to improve the rational use of antibiotic in department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology. Methods The data of all antibacterial drugs in the department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology in our hospital before the intervention (June to December 2018) were retrospectively investigated. Through reviewing the medical records and prescriptions of antibacterial drugs in this department,the reasons were found out,the objectives were determined,the countermeasures were formulated and the intervention was implemented. Clinical pharmacists actively participated in the whole process of antibacterial drug management. The antibacterial drug use intensity and irrational use of antibacterial drugs of hospitalized patients before and after the intervention (January to July 2019) were compared. Results After the intervention,the use intensity,cost and irrational use of antibacterial drugs in department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology were all lower than those before the intervention,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion The active participation of clinical pharmacists can effectively reduce the use intensity and cost of antibacterial drugs and improve the rational application of antibacterial drugs in department of intrarenal rheumatology and immunology.
