Abstract：Objective To compare the clinical effect of Venlafaxine and Sertraline in the treatment of senile depression,and to evaluate the influence on patients′ cognitive function, so as to provide reference for clinical rational use of drugs.Methods Eighty elderly patients with depression admitted to Kangning Hospital for Demobilized Soldiers in Liaoning Province from August 2017 to April 2019 were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into divided into control group and experimental group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Sertraline, and the experimental group was treated with Venlafaxine.The clinical efficacy and cognitive function of the two groups were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the experimental group and the control group (90.00% vs.87.50%) (P＞0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the indexes of Wisconsin card sorting test (WCST) before treatment (P＞0.05).After treatment, the total response number, persistent error number and non-persistent error of the two groups were lower than that before treatment, and the correct response number and complete classification number were higher than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The total response number, persistent error number and non-persistent error number of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group,and the correct response number and complete classification number of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion For the elderly patients with depression, clinical use of Venlafaxine and Sertraline can achieve better clinical efficacy, and can effectively improve the depressive symptoms of patients, but the former venlafaxine is more conducive to promoting the recovery of cognitive function of patients, it is worth learning.
