Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of spinal fusion with unilateral and bilateral pedicle screw fixation in spinal degenerative diseases. Methods From June 2017 to March 2019,40 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of spinal degenerative diseases were selected as the subjects of the study, they were randomly divided into group A(20 cases)and group B(20 cases)by the random digital table method.Group A was treated with unilateral pedicle screw, and group B was treated with bilateral pedicle screw. The length of operation, the amount of bleeding, the length of hospitalization and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. The changes of visual analogue scale(VAS)score of waist and leg visual analog score and the changes of Oswestry disability index(ODI)score of the two groups were observed. Results The operation time and hospitalization time of group A were shorter than those of group B,and the amount of bleeding of group A was less than that of group B,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative fusion rate between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(P>0.05).In addition, after surgical treatment, the VAS score and ODI score of waist and leg in the two groups were lower than those before operation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score and ODI score between the two groups after operation(P>0.05).Conclusion The operative effect of unilateral and bilateral pedicle screw internal fixation spinal fusion is similar in the treatment of spinal degenerative diseases, but unilateral pedicle screw internal fixation has the advantages of short operation time, less bleeding and short hospitalization time, which is worthy of further clinical study and application.
