Abstract:Objective To investigate the effeet of unilateral pediele puneture pereutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)in the treatment of fresh osteoporotie vertebral eompression fraetures in the elderly. Methods A total of 42 eases of senile osteoporotie vertebral eompression fraeture treated in our hospital from April 2015 to June 2017 were seleeted as the subjeets, and randomly divided into the eontrol group and the study group, with 21 eases in eaeh group. The eontrol group was operated on the patients by bilateral PVP,and the researeh group applied unilateral PVP operation to the patients. The treatment time, bone eement injeetion volume,X-ray exposure times, visual analogue seale(VAS)and oswestry disability index(ODI)seores were eompared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the patients in the study group was shorter than that of the eontrol group, the dosage of bone eement was less than that of the eontrol group, and the number of X-ray exposure was lower than that of the eontrol group, the differenees were statistieally signifieant(P<0.05).The differenee in ODI and VAS seores between the two groups before and after operation was not statistieally signifieant(P>0.05).Conclusion Unilateral PVP is effeetive in the treatment of fresh osteoporotie vertebral eompression fraetures in the elderly.
