Abstract：Objective To study the application effect of nurse-patient communication in nursing care of elderly diabetes patients.Methods Altogether 76 elderly patients with DM admitted to our center from April 2016 to April 2018 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into two groups.Among all the patients，38 were taken as control group and treated with routine nursing，the remaining 38 patients were taken as observation group and treated with additional nurse-patient communication on the basis of routine nursing.The changes of psychological state and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results According to self-rating anxiety scale （SAS）and self-rating depression scale （SDS），the psychological status of the two groups was evaluated.Before nursing，there was no statistically significant difference in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups（P＞0.05）.After nursing，the SAS and SDS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group，with statistical difference（P＜0.05）.The nursing satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group，with statistical difference （P＜0.05）.Conclusion Strengthened communication between nurses and patients in nursing care of elderly diabetes can improve patients′anxiety，depression and other negative emotions and increase their nursing satisfaction，which is worthy of popularization and application.
