Abstract:Objective To explore the value of Dexmedetomidine in the treatment of sputum in intensive care unit(ICU).Methods Fifty patients with ICU delirium who were admitted to our hospital from June 2016 to July 2017 were selected as study subjects. They were assigned to the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with Dexmedetomidine, and the control group was given intravenous Haloperidol. The ICU treatment time, total hospital stay, ideal sedation time, Richmond agitation-sedation scale (RASS) score, and clinical adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The ICU treatment time and total hospitalization time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The ideal sedation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and RASS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no serious side effects in either group. The incidence of hypotension, bradycardia or sinus arrest were lower in the observation group than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine in the treatment of patients with ICU can reduce the occurrence of sputum and cure ICU patients as soon as possible, which can shorten the hospitalization time of ICU sputum patients and reduce medical expenses, and has high clinical value.
