Abstract:Objective To evaluate the main risk factors for delirium after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS),to analyze the association between risk factors and delirium. Methods A case-control study of major risk factors for delirium in patients with ACS after PCI were retrieved from the database and Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results Finally,9 studies and 384 patients were included.Meta analysis showed that the age of delirium group and control group (OR=5.53,95%CI[2.28,13.42],P=0.0002),previous history of cerebrovascular disease [OR=10.56,95%CI[5.19,21.48],P<0.00001],atrial fibrillation[OR=3.31,95%CI[1.84,5.97],P<0.0001],anemia [OR=2.65,95%CI[1.55,4.53],P=0.0004],the increase of serum creatinine[OR=13.09,95%CI[5.15,33.30],P<0.00001],and the high dosage of contrast agent[OR=5.56,95%CI[1.32,23.37],P=0.002]had significant difference. Conclusion The current evidence shows that age, past history of cerebrovascular disease, atrial fibrillation, anemia, elevated serum creatinine, and large dosage of contrast agents are the main risk factors for delirium in patients with ACS after PCI.But this conclusion still needs further high-quality prospective study.
