Abstract:Objective To explore the value of heparin binding protein in early diagnosis of pneumonia complicated with sepsis. Methods A total of 50 cases of pneumonia complicated with sepsis in our hospital from August 2017 to August 2018 were selected as the observation group, another 50 cases of pneumonia treated in the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of heparin binding protein (HBP), procalcitonin (PCT), C reactive protein (CRP) and white blood cell (WBC) count were measured in two groups at different time points. Results The levels of HBP, CRP,PCT and WBC in the observation group at the time of diagnosis were higher than those 72, 48 and 24 hours before diagnosis, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The levels of HBP, CRP, PCT and WBC in the observation group at the time of diagnosis were higher than those in the control group at 24 hours after admission, with significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Heparin binding protein can be used as an early diagnostic criterion for patients with pneumonia complicated with sepsis. It is helpful to prevent and implement treatment measures as early as possible and improve the condition of patients with pneumonia complicated with sepsis.
