Abstract:Objective To study the risk factors of metabolic syndrome(MS)in Changsha Area. Methods A total of 2961 healthy residents aged 25 to 80 years old in Changsha from May 2012 to May 2013 were selected for questionnaires, physical examinations and related metabolic indexes test. The influence factors of MS were analyzed by Logisitic review. Results There were 630 patients with MS in line with CDS criteria accounting for 21.28%of all residents. In all subjects, the incidence of central obesity, hyperlipidemia, and low HDL-C was 30.77%,25.23%,and 22.76%.The proportions of blood pressure increasing,FPG,and postprandial blood glucose were 33.60%,20.16%,and 20.57%in turn. The incidence of diabetes was 23.54%.Among all participants, the morbidity of high blood pressure was the highest. There was no difference in detection rate in male and female in merging group three. In groups of absence of MS and merging group one,the female detection rates were much higher than those in male(P<0.05).The male detection rates in merging groups two and four were greatly higher than those in female(P<0.05).The onset of MS was not significantly related to whether drinking and occupation. The prevalence of MS in rural areas was significantly higher than that in urban(P<0.01).With the improvement of educational levels, the number of patients suffered from MS was gradually decreased(P<0.01).The incidence of MS patients preference for sweet food was much higher than that in patients who didn′t hate or like sweet food(P<0.01).The morbidity of MS in patients with smoking, and family histories of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity was much higher in comparison with those who didn′t have(P<0.01).Logistic analysis showed that age, smoking, family history of hypertension, family history of diabetes mellitus, and family history of obesity were risk factors of MS occurrence. The educational degree was the protective factor of MS occurrence. Conclusion The incidence of MS is high in Changsha Area.During treatment, comprehensive therapeutic method is adopted targeting on the risk factors of MS in order to avoid the related diseases.
