Abstract:Objective To investigate the intervention effect of wax therapy combined with acupuncture on patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods Eighty patients with LDH who were treated in Hongdu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2018 to May 2020 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with acupuncture+routine nursing, and patients in the observation group were treated with wax therapy on the basis of the control group.Clinical efficacy, pain symptoms, lumbar function and hemorheology were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate(97.50%)of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(72.50%),the visual analog scale(VAS)score after intervention was lower than that of the control group, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores(JOA)score was higher than that of the control group, the erythrocyte aggregation index, high and low shear blood viscosity were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of wax therapy combined with acupuncture in patients with LDH is beneficial to relieve the pain symptoms of patients, and plays an important role in improving the function of the patients′ lumbar spine, which is beneficial to improve the prognosis of patients.
