Abstract:Objective To compare the value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT)imaging in the diagnosis of senile multiple cerebral infarction. Methods From January 2019 to September 2019,50 elderly patients with multiple cerebral infarction were enrolled in our hospital. All patients were examined by MRI and CT.The detection rate of cerebral infarction, the detection status and time of cerebral infarction, the number and area of cerebral infarction were compared between the two methods at different time of onset. Results The detection rate of MRI was higher than that of CT within 24h and 24-72 h after cerebral infarction, the total detection rate was higher than that of CT (P<0.05).The detection rate of MRI in patients with cerebellum, parietal lobe and basal cerebral infarction was higher than that of CT (P<0.05).The time of MRI examination was shorter than that of CT,the number of cerebral infarction lesions of MRI was more than that of CT,the detection area of cerebral infarction lesions of MRI was significantly smaller than that of CT (P<0.05).Conclusion The practical value of MRI imaging in the diagnosis of senile multiple cerebral infarction is significantly higher than CT.
