Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of removing gastric tube and comprehensive drainage on the treatment of sudden asphyxia in elderly patients. Methods From January 2017 to December 2018, 100 elderly patients with sudden asphyxia in our hospital were selected as objects of study. The patients were divided into observation group and control group by double-blind method, 50 cases in each group. The observation group took the removal of the gastric tube and cooperated with the comprehensive drainage and nursing, and the control group took the routine method of nursing. The effect was observed after 1 month of nursing, including total effective care, hospitalization time, body temperature recovery time, blood routine recovery time, 24 h average sputum volume, nursing satisfaction score, comfort score and quality of life score. Results The total effective rate of observation group was 98.00%, which was higher than that of the control group (74.00%); the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The hospitalization time, body temperature recovery time and blood routine recovery time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The average sputum volume at 24 h was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction score, comfort score and quality of life score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment of elderly patients with sudden asphyxia in the removal of gastric tube and comprehensive drainage plan has significant effects, which can improve the patient′s satisfaction and shorten the hospitalization time.
