Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing in elderly patients with herpes zoster. Methods A total of 60 elderly patients with herpes zoster who received treatment in our hospital from December 2016 to December 2018 were selected. They were divided into control group (n=30) and study group (n=30) according to random number table method.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing, and patients in the study group were given comprehensive nursing intervention. The pain degree before and after nursing, nursing effect and nursing total satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Before nursing, there was no significant difference in visual analogue scale (VAS) score between the two groups (P>0.05).After nursing,VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The VAS scores of the two groups after nursing were lower than those before nursing, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The duration of antiblister, scab formation, pain relief and pain disappearance were shorter in the study group than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the patients in the study group (96.67%) was higher than that in the control group (80.00%),the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing intervention for elderly patients with herpes zoster treatment can not only effectively alleviate the pain of patients, but also promote the recovery of patients, and it can achieve a high degree of nursing satisfaction, which is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
