Abstract:Objective To study the serum uric acid level in chronic schizophrenia patients with long-term hospitalization and its relationship with delayed dyskinesia. Methods A total of 160 patients with chronic schizophrenia admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to May 2018 were selected as the study group.Another 160 healthy people at the same period were selected as the control group. The detection rate of hyperuricemia and serum uric acid concentration were compared between the two groups.Patients in the observation group were divided into delayed dyskinesia group and non-delayed dyskinesia group according to whether they were accompanied with delayed dyskinesia. The effect of schizophrenia with delayed dyskinesia on serum uric acid was analyzed. Results The detection rate of hyperuricemia was 7.50%in the observation group and 13.75%in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05).The level of serum uric acid in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The serum uric acid level in patients with delayed dyskinesia was lower than that in patients with non-delayed dyskinesia, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Long-term hospitalized schizophrenic patients have abnormal uric acid metabolism, especially those with delayed dyskinesia, which needs to be prevented.
