Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of non-invasive ventilation on treatment compliance and quality of life in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods The clinical data of 124 patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease admitted to our hospital from May 2016 to May 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into the treatment group (n=68) and the control group (n=56) according to the different treatment methods.Patients in the control group were treated with the conventional method, while patients in the treatment group were treated with non-invasive ventilation on the basis of conventional treatment. The blood gas index (blood oxygen partial pressure [PaO2], carbon dioxide partial pressure [PaCO2], pH and dyspnea score), treatment compliance and quality of life score were compared between the two groups after treatment. Results There were no significant differences in PaO2, PaCO2, pH and dyspnea score between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).The PaO2 and pH value in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the PaCO2 and dyspnea score in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total compliance rate of the treatment group was 98.53%,which was much higher than that of the control group (75.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The scores of somatic pain, social function, psychological function and mental health in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of non-invasive ventilation in the treatment of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can significantly improve the blood gas index and quality of life, and improve the treatment compliance, which is worth promoting in clinical practice.
