Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of modified dorsal thoracic artery perforator flap for the repair of large area scar in face and neck. Methods From May 2016 to July 2017, 82 patients with large facial and neck scar were selected and randomly divided into the routine group (41 cases, singular number) and the modified group (41 cases, even number). The traditional latissimus dorsi flap was used in the routine group, and the modified dorsal thoracic artery perforator flap was used in the modified group.Shoulder function, adverse reaction, flap survival and self-satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of adverse reactions in the modified group was lower than that in the routine group, and the skin flap retraction rate, The necrosis rate was lower than that of routine group, the total satisfaction in the modified group were significantly higher than those in the routine group, with significant difference (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the shoulder function score between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion The modified dorsal thoracic artery perforator flap is effective in the repair of large area scar in face and neck.It is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
