Abstract： Objective To explore the application value of serum procalcitonin and hypersensitive C-reactive protein in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.Methods A total of 80 patients with acute appendicitis treated in a hospital from February 2016 to February 2018 were selected as the observation group, and 80 healthy patients who received physical examination in a hospital during the same period were selected as the control group.Serum procalcitonin and hypersensitive C-reactive subjects levels of all subjects were tested, and the test results of the two groups were compared.Results The serum procalcitonin level in the observation group was (0.92±0.15) ng/ml, which was higher than (0.08±0.02) ng/ml in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The level of hypersensitive C-reactive protein in the observation group was (17.68±2.36) mg/L, which was higher than (4.82±1.14) mg/L in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The serum levels of procalcitonin and hypersensitive C-reactive protein in patients with perforated appendicitis were significantly higher than those in patients with simple appendicitis, gangrenous appendicitis and suppurative appendicitis respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The serum levels of procalcitonin and hypersensitive C-reactive protein in patients with acute appendicitis after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Serum procalcitonin and hypersensitive C-reactive protein can distinguish between healthy people and patients with acute appendicitis, acute perforated appendicitis and will also be apart from the rest of the non perforated appendicitis, which can be used as a reference for clinical diagnosis of the disease, for the formulation and implementation of the follow-up treatment to lay the good foundation.
