Abstract:Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of ultrasound elastography in benign and malignant thyroid nodules. Methods A total of 40 patients with benign and malignant thyroid nodules (80 nodules, including 25 malignant nodules and 55 benign nodules) who needed surgical treatment in our hospital from October 2017 to September 2018 were randomly divided into control group and observation group according to the method of random grouping. The patients in the control group were diagnosed by conventional contrast-enhanced ultrasound, while the patients in the observation group were diagnosed by ultrasound elastography. The sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value and accuracy of the two groups were compared. Results After both groups of patients were examined, the sensitivity, specificity, detection rate, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of ultrasound elastography in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules can improve the accuracy of the examination, thus providing a reliable reference for clinical promotion.
