Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of serum procalcitonin (PCT)combined with C-reactive protein(CRP)in the diagnosis of sepsis. Methods A total of 90 cases of patients with sepsis who treated in our hospital from August 2017 to August 2014 were selected as case group, and they were divided into sepsis group, severe sepsis group and septic shock group according to the severity degree of the disease,30 cases in each group. At the same time,30 cases of health examination in our hospital were selected as control group. The levels of PCT and CRP were compared between the each group. Results The level of serum PCT and CRP in case group were higher than those in control group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum PCT and CRP in severe sepsis group and septic shock group were higher than those in sepsis group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of serum PCT and CRP in septic shock group was higher than that in severe sepsis group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of combined diagnosis were higher than those of single diagnosis, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum PCT and CRP have important clinical significance in the diagnosis of sepsis. The diagnostic value of combined detection is higher, and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
