Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of single port thoracoscopy in the treatment of patients with spontaneous pneumothorax. Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax admitted to our hospital from June 2014 to June 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into the single port thoracoscopy group and the traditional thoracoscopy group according to different treatment methods, with 40 cases in each group. The single port thoracoscopy group was treated with single port thoracoscopy for spontaneous pneumothorax patients, while the traditional thoracoscopy group was treated with traditional thoracoscopy for spontaneous pneumothorax patients. The operation-related indicators, postoperative pain, complication and recurrence of pneumothorax at 12 months after operation were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in the amount of intraoperative hemorrhage, operation time, duration of thoracic tube indwelling, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative 12 months recurrence rate of pneumothorax on the operative side (P>0.05). The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores at 24, 72 h and 1 week after operation in the single-hole thoracoscopic group were lower than those in the traditional thoracoscopic group, with significant differences (P<0.05). In the single port thoracoscopy group, no puncture hole was added and no complications such as conversion to thoracotomy or massive hemorrhage were found. Conclusion Compared with the traditional thoracoscopic surgery, the single port thoracoscopy has the advantages of reliable efficacy and safety, which can reduce postoperative pain, with high clinical value.
