Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV)in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)with respiratory failure (RF).Methods A total of 120 patients with COPD and RF admitted to our hospital from September 2016 to December 2017 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. In the control group, conventional regimen was used, while in the observation group,NIPPV was added on the basis of conventional treatment. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in PaO2,PaCO2,respiratory rate or heart rate between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the PaO2of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group. The PaCO2,respiratory rate, and heart rate were significantly lower than those of the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).At the same time, the quality of life scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group. The hospital stay was significantly shorter than that of the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with COPD and RF,NIPPV can obtain a satisfactory effect. It can effectively improve the relevant indicators of patients as well as the quality of life, and ensure patient′s health.
