Abstract:Objective To compare the application effect of modified walking test and 6-minute walking test in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) of stable phase. Methods Forty patients with moderate to severe COPD of stable phase in Ganzhou State Hospital of Jiangxi Province from July 2017 to July 2018 were selected as the study subjects as the study subjects, they were divided into control group and observation group according to different monitoring methods, with 20 cases in each group. The control group was given 6 minutes walking test, while the observation group was given improved walking test. The blood oxygen saturation (SpO2),heart rate (HR),respiratory rate (RR),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),systolic blood pressure (SBP),6-minute running distance,British MRC dyspnea index (mMRC),respiratory function Borg scale (Borg) and the incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in SpO2,HR,RR,DBP,SBP and 6-minute walking distance between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in Borg score between the two groups(P>0.05).The mMRC score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence rate of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of modified walking test and 6-minute walking test in patients with moderate or severe COPD in stable stage is comparable, but the modified walking test reduces the degree of dyspnea and the incidence of adverse events. The appropriate intervention methods can be selected according to the specific conditions.
