Abstract:Objective To explore the application of serum homocysteine(Hcy)level and thyroid function testing in threatened miscarriage and missed abortion. Methods A total of 63 patients diagnosed as threatened miscarriage(threatened miscarriage group)and 76 patients diagnosed as missed abortion (misses abortion group)in our hospital from March to December 2017 were retrospectively selected.During the same period,57 women with normal pregnancy test classified into control group. The thyroid function was tested using the chemiluminescence method and the serum Hcy was tested by enzymatic cycle. Results The serum levels of FT4in the threatened miscarriage group and the missed abortion group were higher than that in the control group (P<0.001),but the serum levels of FT3were lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The serum levels of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)were not displayed statistical significance after comparison (P=0.537).The comparison between the threatened miscarriage group and the missed abortion group, only the serum level of FT3 was in significant difference (P<0.05),and for the rest two indicators, there was no significant difference (P>0.05).Further analysis indicated the incidence of TSH≥2.5 mIU/L and TSH≥4.0 mIU/L were not in significant difference(P>0.05).The serum Hcy levels in the threatened miscarriage group and the missed abortion group were higher than that in the control group (P<0.001).Further analysis by different ages showed that patients<30 years old and≥30 years old,Hcy levels were statistically different(P<0.05).Conclusion Hcy serum levels and thyroid function are closely related with abortion, which have good clinical value in the prediction and diagnosis of abortion.
