Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the expression and clinical significance ofmatrixmetalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)and thrombospondin-1(TSP-1)in chorionic and decidual tissues inmissed abortion patientswith subclinical hypothyroidism.Methods25 cases ofmissed abortion patientswith subclinical hypothyroidism treated in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic of our hospital from July 2016 to July 2017 were selected in the study group, and other 25 cases of early pregnant patients for voluntary induced abortion at the same period in our hospital were enrolled in the control group. The clinical data of two groupswere retrospectively analyzed, and the MMP-9 positive expression in chorionic and decidual tissues and the integral optical density(IOD)in TSP-1 positive region were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe MMP-9 positive expression rate in the chorionic and decidual tissues in the study group was lower than that in the control group, while the IOD value in TSP-1 positive region was higher than that in the control group, the differenceswere statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionInmissed abortion patientswith subclinical hypothyroidism, the expression of MMP-9 in chorionic and decidual tissues decreases significantly while the expression of TSP-1 increases significantly. The above two indexes can inhibit the neovascularization, reduce the invasiveness of trophoblasts and affect the embryo implantation, leading to the occurrence ofmissed abortion.
