Abstract:ObjectiveTo observe the expression and changes of plasma water pathway protein 5 (AQP5)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).MethodsFrom October 2015 to May 2017,37 plasma samples of newborns with ARDS admitted to our hospital were selected and 20 samples of nonrespiratory diseases were collected at the same time.AQP 5 and VEGF concentrations were determined by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)and statistically analyzed.ResultsSerum AQP 5 levels in ARDS group were significantly higher than those in non-respiratory diseases group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of AQP 5 in ARDS group at 72 h after adission was significantly higher than that in admission and 24 h after admission, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum AQP 5 levels among children with non-respiratory diseases for three time periods(P>0.05).VEGF levels in ARDS group were significantly higher than those in non-respiratory diseases group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The VEGF level in ARDS group at 24 h after adission was significantly higher than that in admission and 72 h after admission, and it tended to decline after 72 h,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Plasma VEGF level of children with non-respiratory diseases was higher than that of children in 24,72 h after admission, and decreased gradually with the extension of birth time, with statistical significance(P<0.05).ConclusionAQP5 and vascular endothelial growth factor are highly expressed in neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome. They may be involved in the occurrence and development of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome.
