Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the application effect of PDCA cycle management protocol on nursing care management of patients receiving PICC catheterization.Methods180 patients with PICC catheterization admitted into our hospital from September 2014 to September 2016 were selected and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group according to a random number table method, and there were 90 patients in each group. The control group was given traditional nursing model and the observation group was given PDCA cycle management.A detailed PDCA management plan was developed and implemented from the time of hospitalization. The quality of nursing care, incidence rate of complication for catheterization and satisfaction degree of patients were compared between two groups.ResultsThe score of basic nursing, nursing communication, health education and catheterization nursing in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and there was a statistical difference(P<0.05);the incidence rate of complications[13.3%(12/90)]in the observation group was significantly lower than that of 36.7%(33/90) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the satisfaction degree of nursing in the observation group was 98.9%,which was significantly higher than that of 84.4%in the control group (76/90),and the difference wasstatisticallysignificant(P<0.05).ConclusionPDCAcyclemanagementmodelforthenursing management of patients with PICC catheterization can effectively improve the quality of care, reduce the incidence of complications of catheterization and improve patients′satisfaction towards nursing care, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
