Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of insulation tester in risk management of electrosurgical instruments. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted to select 2458 pieces of electrosurgical instruments recovered from the Disinfection Supply Center of Jiangxi Provincial People′s Hospital from April to June 2020 as the control group, including 1931 pieces of operating pliers, 311 pieces of electric coagulation hooks, 135 pieces of power cables, and 81 pieces of other instruments, a total of 60 staff of clinical departments were randomly selected for investigation. In addition, 2510 pieces of electrosurgical instruments recovered from the Disinfection Supply Center of Jiangxi Provincial People′s Hospital from July to September 2020 after the improvement of insulation detection methods were selected as the observation group, including 1952 pieces of operating pliers, 324 pieces of electric coagulation hooks, 147 pieces of power cables and 87 pieces of others, a total of 60 staff of clinical departments were randomly selected for investigation. The total detection rate of insulation damage of electrosurgical instruments was compared between the two groups, and the total satisfaction of the clinical staff was compared between the two groups. Results The total detection rate of electrical surgical instrument insulation damage in the observation group (16.53%) was higher than that in the control group (5.78%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The total satisfaction of clinical departments in the observation group (100.00%) was higher than that in the control group (91.67%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion In the risk management of electrosurgical instruments, the insulation tester can effectively improve the detection rate of insulation damage, reduce the insulation safety accidents related to electrosurgical instruments, reduce the potential safety hazards, and improve the satisfaction of departments.
