Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of the single-visit and multiple-visit root canals in the treatment of acute pulpitis. Methods A total of 100 patients with acute pulpitis(120 co-affected teeth)who were admitted to Fushun Stomatological Hospital from March 2018 to May 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the control group(n=50,60 co-affected teeth)and the experimental group(n=50,60 co-affected teeth)according to the random number table method. The control group were treated with multiple-visit root canal treatment, and the experimental group was treated with one-time root canal treatment. The clinical effect, total incidence of adverse reactions, quality of life between the two groups were compared. Results The overall response rate of the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total adverse reaction rate of the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of psychological function, social function, role function, and physical function in the experimental group after treatment were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with multiple-single root canal treatment, the use of single-visit root canal in the treatment of patients with acute pulpitis obtains a more remarkable clinical effect and fewer adverse reactions, which is beneficial to improve the quality of life of patients and is worthy of extensive use in clinical practice.
