Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of back bladder percussion combined with acupoint massage in the prevention of pulmonary infection in elderly bedridden patients. Methods A total of 100 elderly bedridden patients admitted to Ganzhou Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2019 to October 2020 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into experimental group and control group according to random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine measures to prevent pulmonary infection. On this basis, the control group was treated with back bladder meridian percussion, while the experimental group was treated with back bladder meridian percussion combined with acupoint massage. The incidence of pulmonary infection in two groups was statistically analyzed. Lung function and blood gas analysis indexes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The sputum output within 1 week after treatment, body temperature and normal time of blood routine were compared among the patients with pulmonary infection of the two groups. Results The incidence of pulmonary infection in the experimental group was 18.0% (9/50), lower than 42.0% (21/50) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), peak expiratory flow rate (PEF) and ventilated volume per minute (MMF) in experimental group were higher than those in control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) between the two groups before and after treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The sputum output within 1 week after treatment of patients with pulmonary infection in the experimental group was more than that in the control group, and the time for the body temperature to return to normal and blood routine return to normal time in the experimental group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of back bladder percussion combined with acupoint massage in the prevention of pulmonary infection in elderly bedridden patients is good.
