Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Tiotropium Bromide on bronchial asthma in the elderly. Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with bronchial asthma who were admitted to Iron and Coal General Hospital of Liaoning Health Industry Group from May 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into control group and experimental group according to the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Montelukast combined with Busulfan, while the experimental group was treated with Tiotropium Bromide based on the control group.Treatment effect, symptom disappearance time and pulmonary ventilation function index were compared between the two groups of elderly patients with bronchial asthma. Results The total effective rate of treatment in experimental group was higher than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The disappearance time of dyspnea, wheezing, cough, chest distress and other symptoms in the experimental group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1%),peak respiratory flow rate (PEF),and forced vital capacity (FVC) levels in the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The FEV1%,PEF and FVC levels in the experimental group after treatment were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients with bronchial asthma receiving tiotropium bromide can get better results and better promote the improvement of patients′ prognosis.
