Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of transnasal continuous positive airway pressure treatment in the treatment of children with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 104 children with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure admitted to the Department of Pediatrics of Beiliu Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from January 2018 to July 2020 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control groups(52 cases)and the study group(52 cases)according to the random number table method. The study group was given transnasal continuous positive airway pressure treatment, and the control group was given face mask oxygen therapy. The changes of pediatric critical case score(PCIS),heart rate, respiratory rate, the levels of partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2),partial pressure of blood oxygen(PaO2),and blood oxygen saturation(SaO2)before and after treatment, therapeutic effect and adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results The PCIS scores of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, the heart rate and respiratory frequency of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The PCIS score of the study group after treatment was higher than that of the control group, and the heart rate and respiratory frequency of the study group after treatment were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of PaCO2 after treatment in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, the levels of PaO2 and SaO2 after treatment in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of PaCO2 after treatment in the study group was lower than that in the control group, the levels of PaO2 and SaO2 after treatment in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse events in the study group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion After transnasal continuous positive airway pressure treatment in the treatment of children with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure, blood gas analysis indicators, lung function are improved, hypoxic symptoms are alleviated in time, respiratory rate and heart rate are effectively recovered, the clinical effect is significant,it is worthy of clinical application
