Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of procalcitonin (PCT), interleukin 6 (IL-6),C-reactive protein (CRP) and pulmonary function in patients with chronic bronchitis. Methods Clinical data of 79 patients with chronic bronchitis in Changqing District People′s Hospital of Jinan City from October 2018 to October 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the progress of the disease, they were divided into the acute exacerbation group (41 cases) and the remission group (38 cases). A total of 30 healthy people in the same period were selected as the control group. The serum PCT, IL-6, CRP levels and related pulmonary function indexes such as the forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) and maximum ventilation volume (MVV) were compared among the three groups, and the correlation analysis was carried out. Results There were statistically significant differences in the levels of PCT, IL-6 and CRP among the three groups (P<0.05). The levels of PCT, IL-6 and CRP in the acute exacerbation group and the remission group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of PCT, IL-6 and CRP in the acute exacerbation group were higher than those in the remission group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the FVC, FEV1 MVV among the three groups (P<0.05). The levels of FVC, FEV1and MVV in the acute exacerbation group and the remission group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of FVC, FEV1 and MVV in the acute exacerbation group were lower than those in the remission group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the levels of PCT,IL-6 and CRP were negatively correlated with FVC,FEV1 and MVV(r=-0.693,-0.724,-0.738, P<0.05). Conclusion The levels of PCT, IL-6 and CRP in patients with chronic bronchitis are correlated with FVC, FEV1 and MVV, which can provide reference for clinical treatment and disease monitoring.
