Clinical value of high frequency color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of epididymal orchitis

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical application value of high frequency color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of epididymal orchitis.Methods A total of 337 patients with scrotal lesions admitted to Guangzhou Panyu Central Hospital from August 2018 to July 2020 were selected as research objects.Conventional two-dimensional ultrasound and high-frequency color Doppler ultrasound were performed respectively for all patients.The detection rate and diagnostic value of the two methods for different diseases were compared, and the ultrasonic image manifestations of different diseases were analyzed.Results Clinical laboratory and clinical diagnosis showed that there were 12 cases of orchitis, 246 cases of epididymitis and 79 cases of orchitis with epididymitis.The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, underdiagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of high frequency color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of orchitis were 98.06%, 94.94%, 97.33%, 1.94% and 5.06%, respectively.The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, underdiagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of conventional two-dimensional ultrasound for orchitis were 90.70%, 83.54%, 89.02%, 9.30%and 16.46%, respectively.The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of high frequency color Doppler ultrasound were higher than those of conventional two-dimensional ultrasound, the underdiagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of high frequency color Doppler ultrasound were lower than those of conventional two-dimensional ultrasound, with statistical differences (P<0.05) The ultrasonographic manifestations of orchitis, epididymitis and orchitis with epididymitis were different.Conclusion High frequency color Doppler ultrasound can accurately determine orchitis, epididymitis and orchitis combined with epididymitis, can diagnose the disease as soon as possible, and provide a scientific and standardized reference for subsequent treatment.
