Abstract:Objective To explore effect of hydrocolloid dressing on controlling phlebitis in heart failure(HF)patients caused by Dobutamine intravenous injection. Methods A total of 104 patients with HF who underwent Dobutamine intravenous injection in the hospital during the period from March 2018 to March 2019 were enrolled as study objects.According to different dressing after intravenous injection, they were divided into observation group(n=52)and control group(n=52).In control group, routine film was applied to fix indwelling needle. In observation group, addition to routine film fixation,10 cm hydrocolloid dressing was covered above puncture point of indwelling needle along vein going direction. The occurrence conditions of phlebitis were compared between the two groups. There were 15 cases with phlebitis in observation group, while 25 cases in control group. In terms of phlebitis patients, observation group was still treated with hydrocolloid dressing for external application, while control group was given routine treatment. The response rate of treatment, occurrence time, scores of visual analogue scale(VAS)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The phlebitis severity in observation group was lighter than that in control group(P<0.05).The response rate of treatment in observation group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The incidence of phlebitis occurrence time shorter than 4 h in observation group was lower than that in control group, while incidence of phlebitis occurrence time longer than 8 h was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).After treatment,VAS score of observation group was lower than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In controlling phlebitis of HF patients caused by Dobutamine intravenous injection, the effect of hydrocolloid dressing is significant, which can decrease incidence of phlebitis, and prolong usage time of indwelling needle.
