Clinical application effect of Qidong Runfei Decoction combined with Montelukast Sodium on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases at a stable stage identified as dual deficiency of qi and yin of the lung and kidney

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Qidong Runfei Decoction combined with Montelukast Sodium in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) at a stable stage identified as dual deficiency of qi and yin of the lung and kidney.Methods From May 2017 to August 2018,60 patients with COPD at a stable stage identified as dual deficiency of qi and yin of the lung and kidney admitted to our hospital were selected as the observation samples.They were divided into the control group (n=30) and study group (n=30) according to odd/even number in random.Patients in the control group were treated with Montelukast Sodium alone.On the basis of this treatment,Qidong Runfei Decoction was added in the study group.The lung function changes,clinical pattern scores,and COPD assessment test (CAT) scores,6-minute walking distance were compared between the two groups.Results The forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) and the ratio of the FEV1 to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) in the study group were both higher than those before treatment,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The clinical pattern scores and CAT scores of the two groups after treatment were both lower than those of the two groups before the treatment,the 6-minute walking distance was farther than that of the two groups before the treatment,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the clinical pattern scores and CAT scores in the study group were both lower than those of the control group,and the 6-minute walking distance was farther than that of the control group,the differences were statistically signifi cant (P ＜0.05).Conclusion Qidong Runfei Decoction combined with Montelukast Sodium obtains a good effect on the treatment of stable COPD identified as dual deficiency of qi and yin of the lung and kidney,which can markedly improve patients′ lung function,alleviate their clinical symptoms,and improve their labor endurance and immune function,which is worthy of extensive application in clinical practice.
