Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of problem-based learning (PBL) combined with clinical pathway (CP) in teaching general surgery undergraduate interns.Methods Fifty-five undergraduate students from July 2016 to May 2017 in general surgery practice of our hospital were selected as the control group and taught with traditional teaching mode.Fifty-five undergraduate students from July 2017 to May 2018 in general surgery practice of our hospital were selected as the experimental group.PBL teaching method combined with CP teaching method was used.After the internship, the students were assessed and questionnaires were conducted, the two groups of students in terms of academic achievement, skill and operation assessment results, patients′ satisfaction with students, students′ satisfaction with teachers and teaching methods were compared.Results The scores of theoretical examination, skill operation examination, satisfaction of patients with students, students with teachers and teaching methods in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were significant (P<0.05).Conclusion In general surgery practice teaching, the PBL teaching method combined with CP teaching method is obviously superior to the traditional teaching method, which is conducive to giving full play to the initiative and enthusiasm of both sides of teaching, improving students′ comprehensive ability and improving teaching quality.
